Washington, D.C. – The American Psychiatric Association Foundation (APAF) is pleased to announce that Angela Jones has been selected to become its next Director of Development. A seasoned practitioner of strategic planning, marketing and business development, Angela brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the private and nonprofit sectors to the foundation. Her former positions include Vice President, Global Enterprise Client Partnerships at Bright Horizons; Senior Vice President, Lifestyle Products and Services at AARP Services; and Executive Marketing Director at AOL. She serves as a member of AT&T’s Advisory Panel for Access and Aging and is a Mentor with DC Techstars Future of Longevity Accelerator.

"As a society, we’re at a very important point in time where just about everyone knows someone who is or has been impacted by mental health concerns. The Foundation’s vision of creating a mentally healthy nation for all where we live, learn, work, worship and play is powerful, and I realized it was time to get off the sidelines and get involved in driving better and more inclusive outcomes," said Jones.

Jones’ portfolio will include a focus on expanding the Foundation’s resource pool, building cross-sector relationships and sharpening metrics to scale outcomes. While at Bright Horizons, she led a global client management team serving hundreds of employer clients with workforce education and family care benefits. She embodies APAF’s commitment to creating trusting, sustainable partnerships.

"We’re very fortunate to welcome Angela to the team, given the magnitude of her accomplishments in the non-profit and for-profit sectors, and her talents in leadership, data analytics and innovation,” said APAF Executive Director Rawle Andrews, Jr., Esq. “As I have known and worked with Angela for nearly 20 years, I look forward to collaborating with her and our Board to ensure the continued success of the Foundation’s development and strategic prioritization efforts."

Jones received an MBA and a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in gerontology from the University of South Florida. She is married with four children and is based in Washington, D.C.
